There are now less than two hours to go before the 2022 Durban July takes place at Greyville racecourse.

Yesterday, we brought you the news that Linebacker had joined Safe Passage at the head of the betting. However, during the course of the morning, punters have begun to favour Safe Passage, forcing bet.co.za to cut Mike De Kock's three-year-old into 4.33 solo favouritism once again.

Here are some more Durban July market movers who've been making waves in the betting.

2022 Durban July Market Movers

Pomp And Power - 9.00 into 6.00

Justin Snaith's three-year-old has been steadily closing in on second-favourite, Linebacker this morning. POMP AND POWER has shown plenty of ability in all of his starts to date and, while he may not have won any of the major trials, punters clearly feel that Richard Fourie's mount is going to play a starring role.

Aragosta - 17.00 into 9.00

At the start of the week, Mike De Kock's SA Derby winner could have been backed at 17.00. That price has been continually slashed over the last seven days and ARAGOSTA has been cut again today, with bet.co.za offering its shortest price yet of 9.00.

Kommetdieding - 13.00 into 9.00

In our runner-by-runner guide to the 2022 Durban July that was published earlier in the week, the defending champion could have been backed at 13.00 in the Durban July betting. Bigger prices were available at the time too. Even yesterday, KOMMETDIEDING remained at 13.00, but punters have begun to latch onto that price over the last 12 hours and last year's winner has been cut right into 9.00.

Drifters

Of the market leaders, Sparkling Water is most certainly the weakest. Mike De Kock's mare could have been backed at 7.00 when the market opened last month, but Sparkling Water is now sitting at 11.00 in bet.co.za's Durban July betting.

Al Muthana is friendless in the market, drifting all the way out to 29.00, having been installed at 17.00 after winning the Gold Challenge. First reserve, Airways Law was entered into the betting at around the 17.00 mark yesterday morning, but he too has been on the slide and Willem Nel's contender can currently be backed at 29.00.
