Durban July 2026 Runner Profile - Back Regulation To Win

Justin Snaith's squad for the 2026 Durban July will be bolstered by talented four-year-old Regulation.

Snaith's gelding jumped into Durban July contention with back-to-back wins earlier in the season, including a power-packed performance in the Ownpay Peninsula Handicap at Kenilworth in December. Regulation was then beaten into third behind stablemate Okavango in the Premier Trophy, before suffering another narrow defeat in the WSB 1900 by another Durban July runner, Isivivane.

Regulation struggled on his most recent outing in the final trial for the HDJ, finishing eighth of ten as Zeitz claimed a narrow victory. Snaith's four-year-old had excuses for that defeat, though, and crack Australian jockey Zac Lloyd has been booked to take the ride - fresh off a breakthrough success at Royal Ascot.

Lloyd's mount wears the grey and aquamarine silks of owners Greg and Tina Bortz, and will break from stall two in the main event at Greyville on July 4th.
