The oldest runner in the field for Saturday's Durban July will be Gladatorian, for trainer Stuart Ferrie.
Ferrie's six-year-old finished seventh in last year's Durban July, before going on to upset the champion, The Real Prince when they met in the nine-furlong Champions Cup at the end of July last summer.
Gladatorian was comfortably beaten behind The Real Prince in the King's Plate, and suffered another four-length defeat behind See It Again in the Cape Town Met. Muzi Yeni's mount has performed better on his two starts here at Greyville since, finishing second and third behind Questioning in the Drill Hall and the Gold Challenge.
Yeni takes the ride on Gladatorian on Saturday, and will don the red and black hooped silks of owner E.G Hart De Keating. Gladatorian will be number eight on your racecard, having been drawn in stall eight during the Durban July draw last week.
