Saturday marks a huge day on the South African horse racing calendar, as many of the best horses in the country do battle in the Gold Challenge. Rainbow Bridge scored an impressive victory in this race 12 months ago, and Eric Sands' star has been installed as the odds-on favourite by race-sponsors Hollywoodbets.

2021 Golden Challenge Runners
Eight rivals have been entered against Rainbow Bridge, but the bookies can't look past the defending champion, especially after his sparkling victory in the Metropolitan Handicap at Kenilworth earlier this year.
Justin Snaith will throw both Belgarion and Jet Dark into this year's Golden Challenge. Belgarion - who'll attempt to defend his Durban July crown at the start of next month - sits second behind Rainbow Cridge, while three-year-old Jet Dark can be found at 9/2.
Seeking The Stars kept on to finish second behind stable companion Linebacker in the WSB KZN Guineas last time out, and he'll take his chance against his elders on Saturday. Catch Twentytwo was comfortably beaten into second by Rainbow Bridge in the recent Drill Hall Stakes, but will still return for another crack at the favourite.
Sean Tarry saddled both Cirillo and Chimichuri Run. Sovereign Spirit and Trip To Africa round off the Golden Challenge field.
