The firm favourite for Saturday's feature is Mike and Mathew de Kock's leading three-year-old Jan Van Goyen. The De Kock's rising star ended his juvenile campaign with a Grade One win at Greyville, and was last seen claiming a commanding victory in the Cape Guineas here at Kenilworth.

Eight On Eighteen will be having his first start since that surprise defeat in the Durban July, and Justin Snaith's stable star will be accompanied for the first time by British Champion Jockey, Oisin Murphy. Snaith will also be represented by new recruit See It Again, who ran in all the big races for Mike Roberts over the past two or three years.

The Real Prince upset hot-favourite Eight On Eighteen in the Durban July, and Craig Zackey's mount takes his chance. Two-time Gold Challenge winner, Dave The King also represents the De Kock operation. Garrix will step back up into Grade One company, after finishing second to Dave The King in the recent Green Point Stakes.

Justin Snaith's squad also features Cape Derby runner-up Sail The Seas and consistent four-year-old Legal Counsel. Other runners include Stuart Ferries's Grade One winner Gladatorian, Questioning for Vaughn Marshall, and Sean Tarry's Cosmic Speed.
